Day 1

COPENHAGEN

Arrive in Copenhagen according to your own itinerary.

Copenhagen was once a humble fishing village, but today it is the glittering capital of the Danish empire. Copenhagen is considered to be one of the world’s premier capitals of design and Scandinavia’s pre-eminent city. The city’s 1000 year history written by ambitious kings, inspiring artist and designers, are found in the sumptuous palaces, copper roofed town houses and atmospheric cobbled squares.

We recommend a visit to the shopping area “Strøget”, which is the world’s longest pedestrian shopping street. The shops and department stores along Strøget offer everything from world-famous Danish design to trendy clothing, antiques and souvenirs.

Day 2

COPENHAGEN

After breakfast you will join a 1 1/2 hours city sightseeing tour in Copenhagen with a local guide. Departure from The City Hall Square in front of Palace Hotel. On this tour you will visit some of the most popular attractions in Copenhagen, like New Carlsberg Glyptotek, with an impressive national and international art collection, Christiansborg Palace, The Royal Theatre and The Little Mermaid (service included).

It is also possible to visit one of the many museums the city has to offer, e.g. the National Museum of Denmark which offers an excellent primer in Viking history and shows Viking artefacts along with other art and antiquities.

In the evening you can visit the Tivoli Gardens, also known as the Tivoli Amusement Park. Here you will find 29 restaurants, 26 rides, 400 000 flowers and 110 000 different coloured lights. The park, which is located right in the centre of the city, has something for everyone - whether you want fun and entertainment, an artistic event or a gourmet dinner. Tivoli is one of the highlights in Copenhagen (entrance not included).

Day 3

Castle tour of North Sealand
The tour starts with a drive north, along the coastline towards Elsinore and Kronborg Castle, the famous setting of William Shakespeare''s play "Hamlet". After a lunch, the tour continues towards Fredensborg Palace, the summer residence of the Queen. Fredensborg Palace is attractively located in the middle of a lovely park near the idyllic Esrum Lake.
The next highlight on the tour is Frederiksborg Castle, built by King Christian IV in 1601-1625. It was built in Renaissance style with a touch of baroque, and today it is a national historical museum containing treasures of painting, tapestry, porcelain, silver and furniture (service not included).

Viking Tour
Take a step back in time to the Bronze Age, first with a visit to the Viking Museum in Roskilde and then on to the 5000-year-old passage grave at Øm. Lunch is served at the quaint Svogerslev Kro before driving through rural Denmark to the Romanesque Roskilde Cathedral with its 38 royal tombs (services not included).
